For Hargreaves Lansdown (while at DBA) – the firm has built a tremendous business by demystifying (as much as possible) the world of investing. We helped them grow with inserts and mailers such as:
- A guide to SIPPs. This insert for the Times promoted a free educational guide to SIPPs, one of many complex pension products. As a taster, we clearly laid out the advantages of more freedom, and the potential for better returns. We also employed social proof to nudge people to request a copy – not just saying that thousands had asked for one, but 135,888 people. And we named some.
- A guide to ISAs. While not as complicated as pensions, many people benefit from a free guide to the ins and outs of ISAs. We urged readers to ask for their guide to find out more about the rules and allowances, what you could lose and the tax breaks you could gain. We also clearly laid out why you should choose HL if you are thinking of investing.
